How to follow and unfollow Instagram users with Growbot

Why

Following and unfollowing is the core of growing your Instagram presence. The idea is simple: follow the followers of accounts similar to yours, wait a few days, then unfollow the ones who did not follow you back. Growbot handles both steps from the Accounts Queue.

How to use it

1. Load accounts into the Accounts Queue using any source (followers, following, likers, commenters, or hashtag posters).
2. Open the Process Queue menu and choose Follow or Unfollow.
3. Click Process Queue. Growbot asks whether to Run Now or Schedule Actions. Run Now works through the list right away with your delay between each action. Schedule Actions spreads the work across the days and hours you choose.
4. To follow accounts: choose Follow. If Apply Filters Automatically While Following is on, Growbot checks each account against your filters first and skips any that do not match.
5. To unfollow non-followers: load your own following list, choose Unfollow, and make sure Don't unfollow people who follow me is checked in Settings → Unfollowing Options. Growbot skips anyone who follows you and unfollows the rest.
6. To protect your existing following: before any unfollow pass, add the accounts you want to keep to your whitelist. Growbot never unfollows whitelisted accounts.
7. Run Now and scheduled actions both go into the Actions Queue. To hold them, switch Actions Enabled to Actions Paused on the Actions Queue tab.

Tips

• Start with a small batch (100 to 300 accounts) and spread the follows over several days. This looks more natural to Instagram.
• Check Apply Filters Automatically While Following in Settings so Growbot filters each account before following, without you needing to apply filters to the queue first.
• Check Unfollow After in the Process Queue menu to schedule an automatic unfollow for each new follow. You pick the number of days (7 by default). When the unfollow runs, your Unfollowing Options still apply, so people who followed you back are kept.
• Check Like in the Process Queue menu and choose how many Pic(s) After Follow to like right after following. This increases the chance the person notices you and follows back.
• Growbot marks each processed account as attempted, so it will not follow the same person twice unless you turn on Follow people I've already attempted in Settings.
