Whitelist, blacklist, and attempted lists in Growbot

Growbot keeps three lists that control which accounts it interacts with and which it skips.

Why

Growbot maintains three built-in lists that control how it handles accounts. The whitelist protects accounts from being unfollowed. The blacklist prevents Growbot from interacting with certain accounts at all. The attempted list tracks every account Growbot has already processed, so it does not repeat actions on the same person.

How to use it

  1. Whitelist (never unfollow): Select accounts in the Accounts Queue and click Add selected to whitelist. Growbot will never unfollow a whitelisted account, even during an unfollow pass. Use this to protect friends, partners, or anyone you want to keep following.
  2. Blacklist (never interact): Select accounts and click Add selected to blacklist. Growbot skips blacklisted accounts during follows, unfollows, and other actions.
  3. Attempted list: Growbot automatically adds every account it processes to the attempted list. By default, Growbot will not try to follow someone already on this list. You can clear or edit the attempted list if you want to retry accounts.
  4. Save and load lists: Each list can be saved to a file or to local storage. Click Save whitelist, Save blacklist, or the equivalent button for the list you want to save. To reload a list later, use Load whitelist or Load blacklist and choose where to load from.
  5. Protect your existing following: Go to your own Instagram profile, load your following into the queue, click Select All, then Add selected to whitelist, and finally Save whitelist. This prevents Growbot from unfollowing anyone you were already following before you started using it.
  6. Remove from a list: Click the remove button next to an account, or select accounts and use the remove option to take them off a list.

Tips

  • Always whitelist your existing following before running your first unfollow pass. This is the single most important safety step.
  • You can load your whitelist, blacklist, or attempted list into the Accounts Queue to review what is on each list.
  • The attempted list resets if you clear your browser data. Save it to a file if you want to keep it long term.
  • Enable Show convenience buttons on feed and profile in Settings to whitelist or blacklist accounts with one click while browsing Instagram.
