Growbot unfollow not working: what to check

When unfollow appears stuck, the Log usually shows skips caused by settings, whitelist rules, or Instagram's delayed count updates.

Why

Most unfollow reports are one of three things: protective settings skipping everyone, filters applied during unfollow by mistake, or Instagram's following count not updating immediately even though the unfollow succeeded.

How to use it

  1. Open the Log tab while unfollow runs. Look for SKIPPED lines with reasons.
  2. In Settings → Unfollowing Options, temporarily uncheck Don't unfollow people who follow me if you are trying to unfollow non-followers and nobody moves.
  3. Uncheck Don't unfollow people who match my filters if you copied filter settings from a follow campaign.
  4. Confirm you selected Unfollow (not Follow) in Process Queue.
  5. Verify accounts are not Whitelisted (WHITELISTED stamp).
  6. Visit one skipped profile manually. If you are not following them, Growbot already unfollowed them and Instagram's count is stale.
  7. If the Log shows rate limits (403/429), wait for the automatic retry instead of restarting.

Tips

  • Load your own following list for unfollow passes, not your followers list.
  • Sort the queue by Follows me column after Get More Data to see who will be skipped.
