Instagram follow ratio filter explained
Follow ratio compares an account's follower count to their following count. It helps you skip celebrities and find everyday users.
Why
Accounts that follow thousands of people but have few followers behave differently from accounts with balanced ratios. Filtering by ratio helps you avoid mega-influencers (who will never follow back) and spam-style accounts.
How to use it
- Open the Filters tab.
- Find the Follow Ratio slider.
- Examples:
- 1.0 means followers and following are about equal (500 followers, 500 following).
- 2.0 means roughly twice as many followers as following (2000 followers, 1000 following).
- 7500 at the high end often means they are following the Instagram maximum (~7500) with relatively few followers back.
- Very high ratio numbers (e.g. 5000 in filter terms) target accounts with many followers per person they follow (often influencers or brands).
- For follow-back campaigns, many users set ratio between 0.3 and 2.0 to focus on regular users.
- Click Apply Filters or rely on Apply Filters Automatically While Following in Settings.
Tips
- Ratio filters use data Growbot loaded with the account. Run Get More Data first if follower counts show blank.
- Combine ratio with Last Posted to skip dead accounts.
- Celebrity accounts often have extreme ratios. Tightening ratio is one of the fastest ways to trim a huge follower list.
